![]() ![]() It is only in a world where less than $100,000 can buy you a factory-warrantied 600- or 700-hp car that 460 sounds unimpressive. This level of output is what Rolls-Royce used to refer to, in typical winking understatement, as “adequate.” It produces the same 460 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 465 pound-feet of torque at 4600 rpm. This particular concoction starts with the Stingray’s drivetrain, the naturally aspirated LT1 6.2-liter V-8, but fitted as standard here with the dual-mode exhaust system that’s optional on the base Stingray, plus the dry-sump arrangement of the Z51 version. And like the C6 version of the GS-as with a number of Porsche 911 variations and almost all Taco Bell menu items-the new car is an assemblage of known parts. For whatever the Grand Sport once was, it is now a full-fledged model within the Corvette lineup. NOTE: Extended Mobility Technology tires are only recommended for vehicles that are originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.Still, adding a hot, updated version a couple of years into a product’s life is never a bad idea. ![]() The tire's reinforced sidewalls are capable of temporarily supporting the weight of the vehicle even after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon overlays and an angled ply carcass to combine disturbance-free operation with high-speed durability. Large shoulder blocks, continuous center ribs and a multi-radius profile offer confident steering and uniform wear while dual race-bred Aquachannels help provide efficient water evacuation to promote wet traction. The Eagle F1 GS EMT molds Goodyear's AATRAX tread compound into a directional tread design. The Eagle F1 GS EMT is designed to blend wet and dry traction with treadwear, however like all summer tires, it is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. Featuring Goodyear's Extended Mobility Technology, these tires provide temporary mobility even after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. ![]() The Eagle F1 GS EMT (Extended Mobility Technology) is Goodyear's Ultra High Performance Summer self-supporting run-flat tire developed for C5 Corvette coupes, convertibles and hardtops. ![]() These are the original tires that came on the 1997-2004 C5 Corvette Coupe, Convertible and Hardtop. ![]()
